This piece explores the aesthetic significance of imperfection and traces within the tension between perfection and imperfection. Drawing on theoretical perspectives on beauty, Wabi-Sabi, and the reading of traces, imperfection is understood not as a flaw, but as a creative and design potential.

Traces are documented photographically, analyzed, and experimentally examined before ultimately being translated into a piece of furniture. The resulting “Traces Sideboard” combines industrial precision with temporal transformation through patina, presenting beauty as a processual and open-ended condition.
